This is the heart of the project. If you want to do well at the science fairs and increase your chances of getting to the Canada-wide Science Fair (CWSF) and/or Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), having a comprehensive experimental design is necessary. The best advice I can give you, is to “be critical.” Scientists often do many repeats of their experiments and often test their hypothesis through more than one experimental design.
Be Critical
You have got to be a critic of your own project. There’s no doubt that your science fair project is a large investment of your time and naturally you tend to overlook the weak points of your project. Regardless you have got to “be critical.” Constantly ask yourself how can you improve your project. Is there a better way to do what I am doing?
