Request an account

• You can directly request an account here: Special:RequestAccount
• Once you've requested an account, send a quick e-mail to me at and I'll approve the account within a day or so. You'll get an e-mail with your login information and your password, which you can change to something of your choosing. You can do this here: Special:Preferences
• Try to login, using the link at the top of any given page, or here: Special:Userlogin

Familiarize yourself with MediaWiki

• The basics you need to know are here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Contents
• To get the hang of things, play around on the Project:Test Page. Try linking to other websites, adding sections to a page, making things bold and italics. It's all very easy.

Start working on the guide

• Contact your Section Moderator for the section that you want to work on. You can do this by editing their user talk page.
• Add yourself as a contributor to the Project:Sections page
• Look at the discussion on any page that you're going to contribute to. This will give you a sense of what's being worked on at the time and what's not. If you have any questions or comments, add to the discussion page!
• Edit away! Don't worry about losing things, because the history is always there to make sure we have backups. If you're making a new page, remember to add the category and language links at the end - this will keep us organized!
